DBZ Episode 269
This is great movie lots of action, and of course that bit of comedy DBZ adds to each episode!!!

The Vision of Escaflowne: Movie
or Episodes?
Escaflowne, for those of you who may be interested in watching it, is simply tale of people destroying
a nation in order to make the perfect world. I wont go into details about the exact plot because some people might not have
seen it so Ill just give a vague outline.
Movie
Now this is personally the biggest disappointment AFTER watching
the weekly episodes, but I can imagine seeing it first. The downloadable fan version has amazing artistic value meaning the
visuals are AMAZING!!! But the plot is muddled and lacking the characters and sub-plots to be truly interesting as a whole.
This story is centred on Van, Escaflowne and probably Lord Dilandau and this is why I feel the movie is sadly lacking.
In the episodes, of course they have more time, but in my opinion thats no excuse for completely ignoring characters. The
entrance of Hitomi is very confusing, the war against Fanellia is practically gone and you start half way through the story.
I think the movie, as a whole would have benefited if this were the second movie in a series!
My final note on this
beautiful movie is that you should watch it before having any part of the circulating television episodes. The movie has an
amazing soundtrack and gorgeous artwork! If you can find either, you wont be disappointed. Please note that this is more violently
graphic, as many movies are. Also that if you have problems identifying characters because their appearance is different,
you can just use any search engine and look for Escaflowne and usually the web sites will give you all the different looks
of characters. These looks change as you switch from the different anime styles (shonen and shoujo)
Episodes
Of
all anime that I have been exposed to the Escaflowne episodes have had the most beautiful and touching plot and delivery.
As I said at the beginning, its a story of creating the perfect life and in so destroying an already settled planet. The episodes
are clear, cover everything and you actually know whats going on. Of course it may not be as intriguing as the movie, but
the plots slower and simple to follow. If you watch the movie first youll understand everything completely in the episodes
and it all just becomes one big Epiphany. I love the episodes so much I cannot think of anything within them that I cannot
fathom. But I do remember that the censoring and translation from the downloadable versions and the ones that are shown on
television are very different, an example - the pervert mole. On the show hes a thief, and other such changes are made. I
dont know, but when North American sensors mess with an original, it makes me very angry!
Over All
This is a
gorgeous story! It seems I cannot say it enough! The plot is brilliant, the love, the battles, the passion and characters
all come together in a perfect circle. The music is excellent kudos to the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and the Warsaw Chorus
who made this a very powerful soundtrack and made the moments in the movie memorable. Be wise in your viewing because the
movie, if you want to watch it, should not be viewed after. Believe me it is a great disappointment.

Id give this baby at least an 8 all around, and I think most would agree. In my personal opinion, its more, but
to be fair to the general public, I wont be bias. This is definitely one show to see.
